Singapore (Teoh Ren Jie (C), Adil Hakeem, Ashish Kumar, Benjamin Mak Jia Ming. Coach: Geetha Creffield) have won the 2011 World Schools Debating Championships. They defeated Australia by 7 judges to 2 in the final.

Teoh Ren Jie  (Singapore) was the top ranked speaker on the tab.

Turkey won the right to host WSDC in 2013.

The following e-mail has been sent out to the mailing lists by Claire Ryan to announce her resignation as chair of council of the World Schools Debating Championships and that she will not be attending the upcoming championships in Dundee.  However the good news is that she is stepping down to take up a position as a District Court Judge in New Zealand.

Rd 5 This House would legalise the sale of human organs
Rd 7 This House believes that women can only achieve equality under a secular system of government

Grand Final: This House believes that autocracy is doomed in the age of Facebook

Dear Friends of Debate, I am happy to announce that we will be holding the 1st China National High Schools' English Debating Championship 2011 this summer in the city of Nanjing, China.

We would like to invite your high schools and/or your former high schools to send debate teams to compete in this inaugural, ground-breaking event in China.
