Young activists of Karakol city and Bokonbaevo village conducted community talks aimed at discussion the needs of residents and the current problems of the city based on the results of participatory research.

Public discussions was held on November 15 in the Karakol city and on November 16 in the Bokonbaevo village. More than 70 people took part in the community talks: local authorities, young activists, local people, civil society and the business community. Event organized as a part of "Youth in Action" project.

For the past two weeks 30 young people, from the village of Bokonbaevo (15 people) and the city of Karakol (15), have learned how to identify and analyze the needs of their community. Participants in the project "Youth in Action" are local activists aged 16-28.

Political cartoons from the British national newspapers The Times and The Guardian will be taking part in the Art and Advocacy event taking place in London on 16th and 17th March.Martin Rowson is a “visual journalist” who will be joining us in Art and Advocacy to discuss how to raise social and political issues through art. Martin's cartoons have become a staple of modern British life and appear frequently in The Guardian and The Daily Mirror. He is also a contributor of cartoons to the Tribune, Index on Censorship and the Morning Star.

30 young people from Macedonia will be taught to use different art techniques, comic strip, visualization, graffiti and stencils, for advocating their causes in the society during the Art and Design for Advocacy training which will be held in Skopje, Macedonia from 14 to 18 December 2015.They will work in groups in order to create 12 advocacy campaigns that will be publically present on a final event at the end of the project.This project was funded in part through a U.S. Embassy grant and it is going to be implemented by IDEA SEE in partnership with the Municipality of Center.

IDEA UK is bringing you the Art & Design for Advocacy Lab first pioneered in Macedonia. Art & Design for Advocacy Lab brings together peer educators, young people, youth workers and educators to experiment together to develop a visual language to communicate their own thoughts, messages and opinions.

Our goal is that participants in this Lab use and pass on these essential skills for advocacy to their peers across the UK. (and have some fun in doing so)

The position of migrant youth in the labour market, the responses of African families to public authorities, the treatment of undocumented asylum seekers and the relations between the Netherlands and the Congo: all were discussed during the concluding event of the IDEA project  Inclusion of African Youth in Europe in Nieuwspoort, Den Haag on May 22. Five participants of the project presented their advocacy cases to a public of experts, young people with African roots and policy makers.

The thirteen participants from the project Inclusion of African Youth in Europe completed their blog-writing and advocacy trainings at the IDEA NL headquarters on January the 31st. The series of trainings sought to give them the instruments to plan and carry out their own advocacy campaigns and helped them develop a consistent and effective advocacy plan for projects that they are currently working on.
