Event announcement: The Inclusion of African Youth in Europe

IDEA Amsterdam and partners cordially invite you to participate in the next edition of the debate program "The Inclusion of African Youth in Europe." We seek a a wide variety of backgrounds among participants who are united by their interest in the subject, so anyone from youth with an African background, students of African studies or young professionals with a strong interest in African issues is welcome. The event is a follow up from the succesful first edition, a debate program on the future of African youth in Europea and Africa.

Participants will take part in a training weekend in Amsterdam, in which they learn the basics of debating and gain more knowledge about the topic, particularly concerning education and employment. The trainings' lessons can be put into practice soon after in a debate tournament. All participants are also invited to participate in a public debate with policy makers, politicians and academics in the “Kinderrechtenhuis” in Leiden on the 20th of November 2013, the International Children’s Rights Day.

Stay tuned for more information! Any questions can be sent to Roeland Hemsteede, project officer.

This project is made possible through partnership with the Africa Studies Centre in Leiden, NCDO and New Vision Solutions, as well as funding from Youth in Action.
