This package provides all the benefits of the online Debatabase in a compact offline format that allows you to make comments, add new information, and print out the existing information. The Desktop Edition is in its beta stages and we are looking for users willing to try it out and report feedback to us.

Attention All Accredited IDEA Trainers- IDEA is looking for developers of on-line course in debate and argumentation.
IDEA would like to provide its members with an opportunity to gain knowledge and improve their skills in debate, argumentation and related areas (communications, advocacy, deliberative education – debate across curriculum, etc.) through participation in IDEA on-line courses. IDEA would like to offer the first set of courses in 2007.

Decade of Roma Inclusion

The Decade of Roma Inclusion is an initiative adopted by eight countries in Central and Southeast Europe, and supported by IDEA. It represents the first cooperative effort to change the lives of Roma in Europe. An action framework for governments, the Decade, which runs from 2005-2015, will monitor progress in accelerating social inclusion and improving the economic and social status of Roma across the region. IDEA's is participating in the Decade by promoting debate and discussion on issues relating to Roma.

In 1999, Turkey was recognized as a candidate for EU membership and formal accession negotiations began in October of last year.
